Paypal Video Testimonial

Paypal video for filmmakers
It's been quite a month so far. We announced the official launch of The Filmmakers Channel in the media and have had a gratifying response.
We were featured on the New Mexico Business Weekly site in a great article by Megan Kamerick, which went national, and we made the 10 p.m. news on Saturday, Nov. 15 on local ABC affiliate KOAT-TV. Thanks to reporter Royale Da for that.Gene Grant wrote us up in his latest Albuquerque the Magazine film column.

The Filmmakers Channel will also be featured in Accent Magazine in December and a piece is forthcoming from film industryreporter Dan Mayfield at the Albuquerque Journal.
Meanwhile, our publicity efforts for The Filmmakers Channel have been reaching around the world. Inquiries have come in from filmmakers and distributors all over the United States, Spain,England, France, Germany and Cyprus, among others.

Films and Partners
We are expanding at a rapid pace. The Filmmakers Channel is partnering with Florida-based martial artist Lee Barden to create the Martial Arts Channel (thanks to Michael Palombo at Filmmakers Help.

Others partners include

1. Jay Weidner of Sacred Mysteries to offer their entire collection, featuring movies about Mayan prophecies and other esoteric subjects.
2. International Social Action Film Festival, which will launch early next year,
3. The Bleep Store, offering David Sereda's, "The Voice," and soon "Change Your Brain"
4. Douglas Gilles of East Beach Press who are broadcasting their critically acclaimed film "On The Edge."
5. Illuminated Media - A full length film about enduring change through faith called "Broken"
6. Fade to Grey Films - A 20 minute short about about recognizing and confronting evil.

In addition The Filmmakers Channel has also helped raise funds for the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary by selling a video by Managing Director Leyton Cougar online and we are in discussion with the the KingDomWood Christian Film Festival to launch the Christian Film Channel early next year.
Distribution News
One of the challenges we face conveying the idea to filmmakers that the status quo system of distribution is disintegrating and re-ordering on an almost daily basis: what you thought you knew about distribution does not apply any longer.

In the midst of this chaos is the opportunity for independents to take the reins of their own distribution. This interview with noted indie producer Ted Hope says it about as succinctly and forcefully as we've seen. I particularly love the line about "parasitic gatekeepers." maker profile to help promote your Film.

Editorial: The Filmmakers Channel Position in the Distribution Vortex
by Dan Latrimurti
You are receiving this newsletter for any number of reasons, but on some level you too recoginize that the system of films distribuiton is going through a rapid and intense evolution. We believe that it is more of along the lines of a gestation moving towards revolution then evolution because the tools that are becoming available and are offered here shifts power from the big "mega flix" distrbuitors to the filmmakers and on line distributors that can get your film in front of targeted eyeballs.

Our philosophy is simple. We believe that when it comes to getting your film(s) distributed and sold that there isn't anyone in the world that has your best interest in mind more then you.

As much as we would love to guarantee all filmmakers on line distribution success through our initiatives, the reality is that we cannot. Even with a "mega portal" website some films will languish and receive little attention. Why? Not because their film isn't worthy, it is because a 'mega portal' distribution strategy obsolete and not capable of getting your film in front of the most interested audience. A mega portal can't do it, but with the right technology and information you can.

Our job is to provide any filmmaker that wants to take responsiblity for their distribution success with the technology that will allow them to apply their media across the internet so that the people who care about it get a chance to see it. This is what we mean by Audience Direct Distribution of Independent Films and Alternative Media that Pays Filmmakers First.
